SwimSafer Stage 2
Goal: 25 m continuous swim
Stage 2 develops general skills: unassisted step entry into the water, sculling and feet-first surface dives, plus personal water-safety skills. A key goal is swimming 25 metres continuously.
What your child learns in this stage

SwimSafer 2.0 Stage 2 Assessment
Swim:
- Swim 25m on front crawl or breaststroke
- Swim 15m on back
Survival Sequence 2A (w/o goggles)
- Step-in Entry into water
- Front float for 10 sec
- Swim 5m on front, rollover and continue
- Swim 5m on back
- Back float for 10 sec
- Scull, float and tread water for 30 sec
- In chest-deep water, perform feet-first surface dive and recovers an object
- Resurface and exit safely from water
Survival Sequence 2B (w/o goggles)
Dress in swimwear, t-shirt and shorts:
- Swim 15m using any survival stroke
- Swim to pool edge and climb out
- Fit a PFD and jump into 1.4m deep water
- Swim 25m with PFD and climb out of water
How this stage is assessed: a practical in-water assessment (assessed as fully competent) plus an online water-safety theory quiz with a 90% pass mark. Since July 2025 both are managed on the national CAMS platform run by Singapore Aquatics, and e-certificates are issued through FileSG.
