Why Do We Implement Strict Guidelines On Your Swim Diaper?

Swim Diaper Test

We experimented several brands of disposable and reusable swim diapers in Singapore and found major seepage issues with the disposable swim diapers. On the other hand, some reusable swim diapers, especially those adjustable ones are highly prone to leakages from the thigh and waist areas.

Test Result

The test was further extended on popular brands to test the individual’s durability, ability to contain solids and its waterproofness. There were compromises on the effectiveness on all except for the two brands stated below.

1. iPlay™

2. SnuglyFit™

The reusable swim diapers recommended above fit snugly on both your child’s thigh and waist. Please avoid getting a diaper size bigger as it will defeat the whole intention.

Swim diapers which leak easily cause a high risk of water contamination and threaten the safety of our pool users, including your child.

  • Disposables are cheap and offer convenience, but they are more prone to have seepage issue as there is no waterproof layer, especially in long duration and after prolonged use.
  • Reusable swim diapers offer better fit and have waterproof layer to prevent seepage. However, the adjustable ones leak easily from the thigh and waist area as it is not snug fitting.
  • Wearing the wrong swim diaper results in seepage which in turn cause various bacteria growth such as E.coli. The harmful consequences of E.coli include diarrhoea, urinary tract infections, respiratory illness, pneumonia, and others.

Often, parents could not react in time when such seepages take place and sometimes they do not even notice! Hence, please use the approved brands because you do not want to be the reason that there is literally poo in the word “pool”.
